Small tray for your bits and bobs. The patterning is created with iron acetate (from soaking steel wool in vinegar). The iron acetate reacts with the tannins in the wood turning it black. To deepen the black, a paint wash was overlaid and a satin varnish was used to finish.

Salvaged stringybark wood.
